Many of you have never heard of "The Christian Civic League". That is probably because many of you don't live in the state of Maine. Even if you do live in Maine you may not be familiar with their rampant religeous rediculousness (+3 for alliteration).

Recently they have taken a stab (pun intended) at violent video games. While this may ruffle a few gamers feathers, let me assure you that these idiots are harmeless.

How do I know? Because I am from Maine, and I grew up in the same town as their fearless leader.

**More after the Break**

Mike Heath (pictured above in all his self-important glory) raised his children in the same town I grew up in. In my home town we are used to his stereotypical bible belt rantings on everything from Gay Marriage, to which democratic leaders are posessed by satan etc. For the most part we ignore him and politely say "no" when he offers us a free Heath(TM) candy bar everytime election season comes around.

The organization has become more of a running joke/vocal minority in the Augusta area (where their holy headquarters lies). We laughed at the groups praise of "The Passion of the Christ" and how they subsequently asked local theatres to remove "The Davinci Code" due to its ability to sway viewers into biblical disbelief. Due to their hillarious track record, my friends and I don't even call them the Christian Civic League... we instead have dubbed them : THE LEAGUE OF EXTRODINARY CHRISTIANS! ... because they are a joke... a joke with an agenda.

So please don't give them more credit than they deserve, they are trying to use the best selling piece of media EVER in an effort to gain attention to their belief that everyone needs to obey their value set. Nobody is going to stop playing Modern Warfare 2 just because Mike Heath needs a new angle... so stop fretting and keep playing. Sure, they may call you "witches" or "pagans" or even "heretics" for not agreeing, but I'd rather be a "witch" than an intolerant relegious douchebag anyday.

Besides, it wasn't long ago that Mr. Heath was off fighting non-biblical mass media while his son was drinking underage at a party in Vassalboro... I mean oops. Did I say that out loud?
